After this win, Delhi Capitals reached the first position in the points table with 12 points. Not only did Shreyas Iyer win the team, he also equaled a special record of Virender Sehwag.
Delhi Capitals scored 161 for 7 wickets. The team had a poor start and lost the wickets of Ajinkya Rahane and Prithvi Shaw within 10 runs. After that Shreyas Iyer (53) and Shikhar Dhawan (57) shared the innings with a 85-run partnership for the third wicket. Shikhar Dhawan scored 57 runs off 33 balls with the help of 6 fours and 2 sixes. Shreyas Iyer scored 53 runs off 43 balls with the help of 3 fours and 2 sixes. This is Shreyas Iyer’s 15th Fifty in the IPL for Delhi and he along with Virender Sehwag has now become Delhi’s highest half-century batsman in the IPL. Virender Sehwag scored 15 fifties in 79 matches between 2008 and 2013. Shreyas Iyer achieved this destination in 70 matches between 2015 and 2020. Rishabh Pant is in second place for Delhi in scoring the most fifties, with 11 fifties registered in his name.
For Delhi, Jofra Archer took 3 for 19 and Jaydev Unadkat took 2 wickets for Rajasthan. In response, none of the batsmen, except Ben Stokes, from Rajasthan could properly counter the Delhi bowlers. Stokes became the victim of Tushar Deshpande by scoring 41 runs with the help of 6 fours in 35 balls. Robin Uthappa scored 32 and Sanju Samson scored 25 runs.
