The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) on Thursday announced its 15-man squad for the first ODI against Zimbabwe. The first match of the three-match ODI series will be played at Pindi Cricket Stadium on Friday. Babar Azam will be the captain of the team while wicketkeeping will be the responsibility of Mohammad Rizwan.
The new vice-captain of the team, Shadab Khan, will not play in this match as the PCB medical team has not announced him for selection on Wednesday.
Shadab suffered a leg injury in a practice match in Lahore. He will be looked after for a week and may be available in the remaining series. Zimbabwe and Pakistan have to play a series of three ODIs, three T20 matches. The series will be played in Rawalpindi which is hosting the first ODI matches since 2006.
Zimbabwe last visited Pakistan in 2015.
