Mumbai Indians batsman Suryakumar Yadav, who played an unbeaten 79 against Royal Challengers Bangalore, has said that he was thinking of becoming a match-winning player for a long time and he also worked on it. Bangalore had a 165-run challenge in front of Mumbai in the match played at Sheikh Zayed Stadium, which Mumbai won by losing five wickets on the back of Suryakumar’s brilliant innings.
Suryakumar was adjudged Man of the Match for his innings.
After the match, Suryakumar said, "I have been thinking about ending the match for a long time. I used to think how could this be done. I should have been fully aware of my game and had to go on the field and play like that. Doing meditation and spending time on my own helped me a lot."
Suryakumar said that he worked hard on his game during the lockdown.
They said, "I’ve worked hard on my game in lockdown. Earlier I used to shoot more on the leg stump. I like the number 3 spot but I wanted to finish the match. So I am happy with this effort."
