Former Indian batsman Sunil Gavaskar, while interacting with Sports Tak, has selected his favorite playing XI of Mumbai Indians. He has chosen team captain Rohit Sharma and Suryakumar Yadav as opening batsmen in this team. At number three, he has replaced South African left-handed wicket-keeper batsman Quinton de Kock and fourth-ranked young Indian wicket-keeper batsman Ishan Kishan.
Gavaskar has included three big all-rounders in his team which has tremendous Hardik Pandya on the fifth, Kieron Pollard of the West Indies on the sixth and Krunal Pandya on the 7th.

In the bowling department, he has been the only spinner with three fast bowlers. Among the fast bowlers, he has chosen Nathan Coulter Nile to support Jasprit Bumrah.
