Delhi Capitals fast bowler Enrique Norkhia (Anrich Nortje), the fastest bowler in IPL history, has said that he did not even know that he has bowled so fast. Norkhia bowled at a speed of 156.22 kmph while bowling in the match played against Rajasthan Royals at Dubai International Stadium here on Wednesday. This is the fastest ball of all seasons in IPL except this season. Delhi Capitals defeated Rajasthan Royals by 13 runs in this match.
In a video on the IPL website, Norkhia said during a conversation with his teammate Shikhar Dhawan, " I came to know about this later. I was not aware of it at that time. I am working very hard for my pace. Fast bowling requires the right attitude, but apart from that it is also necessary to put the ball in the right place."
Rajasthan opener Jose Butler hit two fours via a scoop shot in the same over from Nortje. However, in the same over, Norkhia also bowled Butler.
The South African bowler said, "Yes, the fight against Butler was quite exciting. I knew he played scoop shots but I was surprised when he played for the first time. I did not think that he would do the same for the second time. But he again played the same shot on the next ball. He batted well in that over but I looked at my strength. We knew what the wicket is like, so I wanted to diversify the bowling using it.
Norkhia has taken 10 wickets in eight matches so far this season. He also took two wickets for 33 runs in four ove against Rajasthan.
