Pakistan limited overs team captain Babar Azam will play for County Club Somerset in the upcoming season of T20 Blast. The club gave information about this on Saturday. He will play the last seven matches of the club’s group round and will be available in the knockout round matches if the club qualify for the lead.
Azam is currently captaining the Pakistan team in the three T20 matches against England. The first match of the series played on Friday was canceled due to rain.
Azam said, “I enjoyed playing with Somerset last year and I am ready to join the club again. Obviously this time the season is different from our expectations. The way the game has taken on the global challenge I am very happy with what I have encountered.
“We have to agree to all this and I am very happy that we have found out the way of organizing it,” he said.
Somerset Director of Cricket Andy Hare said that we had already agreed to an agreement with Babur with the effect of the Kovid-19 but since then domestic and vitality blasts have changed.
