The International Cricket Council (ICC) in the core meeting on Friday took an important decision on hosting the T20 World Cup. Under this, the T20 World Cup to be held in 2021 will be held in India, while the T20 World Cup postponed due to corona virus this year will be held in Australia in 2022. The decision was taken on a virtual platform during the board meeting by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) and Cricket Australia (CA). The ICC had prepared to host the 2021 World Cup to Australia. Broadcasters also agreed with India that there should not be a World Cup for two consecutive years in a country. In such a situation, Australia had to step back and prepare to host 2022. The ICC wanted the 2021 World Cup to be held in Australia, as there was complete preparation. The ICC World Cup T20 was to be held in Australia from 18 October, but was postponed due to the Kovid-19 epidemic. Only after that the way was cleared for the IPL event, which will start in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) from 19 September. Its final will be held on 10 November.
CA will return ticket money: It was only after the postponement of the World Cup in Australia that the CA said that if they get the hosting of the 2021 World Cup, then those who have bought tickets will be valid in the next year’s World Cup, but if the 2022 World Cup is hosted If the ticket is refundable. In such a situation, the CA will now have to return the ticket money. The ICC has also postponed the Women’s ODI World Cup to be held in New Zealand from February 6 to March 7 next year for a year.
